Visiting the historical Cardiff Castle

Cardiff. A beautiful place, a really awesome, modern city filled with amazing restaurants, attractions and more. But, in the very centre of Cardiff lay an ancient, historical... castle. Cardiff Castle. An 11th century bailey castle built on an even more ancient Roman fort.

Below the castle lay an original Roman wall with a mural built beside it, commissioned in 1981-1983. *sourced from cardiffcastle.com. A wartime museum now resides next to it.

Around the outer wall of the castle lay historical wartime shelters, really authentic feeling too. Enough so that a worker had to clarify "I'm not a ghost, I just work here!" as 1940 era music blared down the dark, immersive tunnels of the wall. There's also luxurious castle flats; Lastly an humbling Norman castle in the centre. Enjoy some pictures I took of my time here!
